Part 19: Mark 6:12-23
Repentance, Authority, and the Real King
Mark 6:12–23
The twelve disciples went out in Jesus’ name — proclaiming repentance, confronting evil, and bringing healing to broken lives. In this message, we see what it means to live with that same Spirit-empowered authority today: to turn from self-rule to Christ’s rule, to face spiritual darkness with the light of the Gospel, and to bring God’s healing into ordinary moments. But as Jesus’ name spread, so did the tension in the halls of power, where pride, lust, and bitterness collided in Herod’s palace. This sermon invites us to choose which kingdom will shape us — the fleeting power of this world or the eternal reign of the true King, Jesus.
