Part 37: Mark 10:13-22
Open Hands or Full Hands: Receiving the Kingdom Like a Child
Mark 10:13-22
In this message from Mark 10:13–22, Pastor G shows us Jesus radically redefining who belongs in the kingdom and how it is received. As children are brought to Him, Jesus rebukes His own disciples for blocking access and declares that the kingdom belongs to those who come with childlike trust—open-handed, dependent, and receptive. That truth is then set in stark contrast with the rich man who sincerely seeks eternal life but ultimately walks away grieving because his hands are too full to receive it. This message confronts our tendency to confuse moral effort with surrendered trust, exposes the quiet idols that compete with allegiance to Jesus, and invites us to come not with résumés or control, but with humility, trust, and open hands, because the kingdom is not achieved, it is received.
