Part 6: Mark 2:6-17

Jesus Reads Minds, Heals Legs, and Shocks the Religious Crowd (Mark 2:6–17)

The religious leaders are silently freaking out because Jesus just forgave a paralyzed man’s sins—something only God can do. But Jesus reads their thoughts like an open book and hits them with a mic-drop moment: “So you know I have the authority to forgive sins… watch this.” Boom—He heals the man on the spot. The crowd is stunned. But Jesus doesn’t stop there. He walks out, sees Levi the tax collector, and says, “Follow Me.” Next thing you know, Jesus is reclining at Levi’s house, eating dinner with a table full of tax collectors and sinners. The religious folks lose their minds again: “Why is He eating with them?” And Jesus responds, “Because sick people need a doctor.”

This is Jesus redefining righteousness, community, and what it means to be called. And trust me—it’s not what the scribes expected.
