ONE OF THEM: When Fear Makes Us Deny Jesus

Peter was certain he would never deny Jesus, but around a courtyard fire, fear slowly turned a devoted disciple into a man insisting, “I do not know Him.” Peter discovers how quickly following Jesus “at a distance” can become denying Him when discipleship begins to cost something. But Peter’s failure is not the end of his story, and ours doesn’t have to be either. What happens when the rooster crows in our own lives? Will we keep our distance, or will we stand up and say without hesitation, “I am one of them. I belong to Jesus.”
