Jesus, Interruptions, and a Leper Who Couldn’t Keep Quiet (Mark 1:35–45)

After a jam-packed day of healing and casting out demons, Jesus slips away early in the morning to pray. But the disciples come hunting Him down like, “Everyone’s looking for You!” Jesus isn’t fazed. He’s got bigger plans—He came to preach, not just perform miracles. Then, out of nowhere, a guy with leprosy shows up. Total outcast. No one would touch him. But Jesus? He doesn’t just heal the man—He reaches out and touches him. And that moment changes everything. Jesus tells the guy, “Don’t tell anyone.” But of course, the guy tells EVERYONE. And suddenly, Jesus can’t even enter towns publicly anymore. The outsider is back in, and Jesus is pushed out. It’s a total role reversal—and a glimpse of what the cross is all about.
